Terrantai is part of the so-called ‘typical zone’ of San Pedro de Atacama. We are a small native hotel in the heart of San Pedro de Atacama.

Terrantai is a historic 19th century house with a unique history and location. In 1980, the Chilean government declared the buildings built around the church of San Pedro de Atacama as part of the “Historic Sector”. The hotel was built in 1996. The reception and lobby areas, as well as the rooms along the original corridors, have been preserved in their original state, preserving the originality and identity of the Atacama´s architecture.

For us, the preservation of the cultural heritage of this historic house is a priority.

"This place is very beautiful and a high standard hotel. I’d give it 5*. The beds are huge and comfortable and we appreciated the heating in the rooms as we visited during winter. It is located right in the city centre but it’s build the way that all rooms are facing inner courtyard and therefore there is no or very little noise from the street. When we needed their help to store out luggage and park our car in their secured car park while going to Bolivia for 4 days, the staff was happy to accommodate our needs. They were all friendly and helpful. Amazing experience"

"OH MY GOSH! Don't stay anywhere else in San Pedro. Terrantai is easily one of the best places I've ever stayed (and I've stayed in 150+ hotels). The attention to detail, the location, the STAFF!! All so so so incredible, especially Moisés, he is truly the best.The breakfast served every day is "simple" but amazing, with fresh-to-order eggs, fresh croissants baked every morning (yes, I had 2 per day), fresh squeezed oj, and plenty more.There is no A/C, but it's the desert, nights are cold and honestly it's not needed...Terrantai, THANK YOU. We loved it here so much, I know it won't be my last stay"

"What a wonderful experience! We felt that we had arrived home! The staff at Terrantai are very knowledgeable about San Pedro, and attentive and responsive to guests' needs. The front desk staff was amazing at answering all of our questions regarding recommendations for activities, restaurants, and the best shopping venues for authentic crafts.After long days of touring, we always looked forward to arriving at Terrantai and enjoying either afternoon tea or happy hour in their beautiful and peaceful gardens. I would highly recommend this very welcoming environment to enjoy San Pedro and all of the surrounding sites."
